We're down to the semis and then the finals, same two battling heroes as last year, with a sudden-death ending and another bas pehlivan for Turkey's beloved president to crown. Then from Kirkpinar we travel to the distant mountain village of Camlidere, famous for producing champions, to enjoy its regional tournament in a primitive stadium built in the forest. This tournament is big, more homespun, but just as intensely fought. Between and during bouts the crowd is entertained by three male dancers in full-length dresses and by several noted singers.
